The vibrant world of street artists returns to television with the show “BUSKERS,” airing in prime time on Rai2 from Tuesday, February 20. Hosted by the acclaimed singer NEK, this series celebrates the talents of street performers across Italy, showcasing their skills in front of a live studio audience and special guest judges, including Iva Zanicchi and Francesco Paolantoni in the first episode, referred to as “important passersby.” This season will also feature international guests, presenting a variety of acts such as singers, musicians, jugglers, and mimes from around the globe.
Over six episodes, street performers from various Italian cities will perform and share their stories in a setting that mimics the lively atmosphere of an Italian piazza. The audience and guest judges will vote for their favorite acts each episode, leading to a grand finale where the best street artist in Italy will be crowned.
NEK, a renowned Italian singer, brings his charisma and passion for music to the stage, guiding viewers through an array of impressive performances and personal stories.
The show will feature notable guests, with Iva Zanicchi and Francesco Paolantoni appearing in the premiere episode. This year, the show expands its horizons by including international artists performing out of competition.
The show is a production of Rai – Direzione Intrattenimento Prime Time in collaboration with Stand By Me. Directed by Maurizio Pagnussat, it offers a unique platform for street artists to reach a wider audience.
Artists will perform various acts including music, singing, dancing, and juggling, each bringing a piece of their personal journey to the stage. Their performances will be evaluated by the studio audience and guest judges, who together will decide the top acts of each episode. These chosen performers will compete in the final episode for the title of the best street artist in Italy.
“BUSKERS” promises a joyful and emotional viewing experience, showcasing the extraordinary talents and compelling stories of street artists in a festive television format.
